Dungeons & Dragons Warcraft Roleplaying Game!
Friday, January 17, 2003
Sword & Sorcery Studios™ has teamed up with Blizzard and Wizards of the Coast® to publish the Dungeon & Dragons® Warcraft® Roleplaying Game. Read more.

The game is expected to be released this summer, they've probably kept it a secret for a long time...

Too bad for all the RPG fans that swore never to buy a Blizzard game again though.

I would bet money they mean a pen and paper roleplaying game. Not a PC game.

Haha, I never thought about a pen and paper game.
That would explain the quick release date.

I loved the pen and paper game - my bro would never let me play though. I still have, somewhere, the 16th level cleric that I used.

Please tell me it won't end up as bad as the movie or the disaster called Fellowship of the Ring?

Because, as everyone knows, The Fellowship of the Ring, directed by Peter Jackson, is directly affiliated with both Dungeons and Dragons, Blizzard studios, Wizards of the Coast, and Warcraft...

From the press release, it certainly sounds like they're releasing a pen-and-paper, since that's what Sword and Sorcery and White Wolf studios do..

E. Deirdre Brooks, author of numerous game books for White Wolf Publishing, Inc. and Sword & Sorcery Studios, will develop the new game line. She coordinates each aspect of the roleplaying game content with Chris Metzen, creative director at Blizzard Entertainment, to ensure that the roleplaying game is faithful to the original computer game concepts.

"We look forward to giving our fans a new perspective on the scope and depth of the Warcraft world, while also introducing pen and paper gamers to a new universe," said Metzen.

"I'm thrilled with the opportunity to work on this project," said Brooks, a longtime fan of both the Warcraft RTS games and Dungeons & Dragons. "My focus is to make an exciting D&D setting that does not merely reproduce the world that Blizzard developed for the computer games, but that also inspires fans to create their own stories within that incredible fantasy setting."

I liked the Vampire:The Masquerade series that White Wolf studios did... sounds like the Warcraft RPG is going to be just as detailed.
