Okay, so I just buy Warcraft 3, Install it and click the icon. The Blizzard Intro logo pops up, then the nice movie of the soldier and orc grunt fighting plays, then blam-o! A flicker on the screen, my mouse cursor pops up, and I'm left with the black screen. No Keyboard commands work, esc, control-alt-delete, nothing. I have to completely turn off and then on the comptuer to do anything. My mouse can move while it's stuck like this, but that's about it.
I have a Hewett Packer with windows 98, an ATI Rage 128 8MB Graphics Card, a 550 MHz Pentium 3, 19 GB Harddrive with about 4.5 gigs free, 24x/10x/40x Sony CD RW/R Drive, with Direct X 9.0
I don't think sound is the problem because the movies play fine.
If any help can be offered, i'd GREATLY appreciate it, thanks.

sounds like your computer is right on the border of the minimum system requirements. your video card is probably where things are going down hill with your attempted installation.
Quote:
Minimum specs:
Windows 98/ME/2000/XP;
400 MHz Pentium II or equivalent;
128 MB of RAM;
8MB 3D video card (TNT, i810, Voodoo 3, Rage 128 equivalent or better) with DirectX8.1 support;
700 MB HD space;

Recommended:
600 MHz processor;
256 MB of RAM;
32 MB 3D video card;
DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card.
