Vivendi Universal is planning to sell its games unit. Vivendi games owns Blizzard Entertainment, which is known for its widely successful Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo games. The sale of Vivendi's game division has long been anticipated, as the company has been selling assets to slash its massive debt load. Reports from CBS MarketWatch claim that the company is in talks with companies such as Electronic Arts and Microsoft, which may prove very interesting once an agreement with either company has been reached.

Personally, I hope EA buys it more than Microsoft. But either way, I hope both new patential parents will leave the individual developers their own atonomy.

Anyway, no way in HELL do you want EA to buy it. They destroy everything they touch. RIP Origin.

And I think they did well with Origin!
