In case you haven't heard, Mr. Turner has announced he will be leaving AOL:

Ted Turner is resigning as vice chairman of AOL Time Warner, capping a tumultuous year for the beleaguered media giant.

The announcement came just shortly after the company reported a net loss of $98.7 billion for 2002. Those results included a $45.5 billion fourth-quarter charge related primarily to depreciation in the value of its America Online unit, as well as a first-quarter charge of $54 billion in accordance with changes in accounting rules.

Omg, you just reminded me of something that happened the other day. I got all of the following in my mail on the same day:

3 Aol CD's
2 MSN
2 Earthlink

COME ON! One of each was for "Current Resident" the other one of each were in my name, and the 3rd Aol disc was also current resident. Im so sick of these things. The Aol ones were in tin boxes too, thats gotta be expensive.

They started it actually in 2000/2001, not 2002. I had it from August 2001 to August 2002, then got SBC. It was ok, not terribly great though. Still had to use that god awful Aol program for it. It was cheap though, $43 a month and I had 1280/110 connection.

But from what Ive been hearing about it lately, they have kinda given up on it. The networks have been slow and had lots of problems. A little while back the president of Aol said they would be focusing more on narrowband and less on broadband.
