Advanced Micro Devices confirmed on Friday that it has pushed back the introduction of its Athlon 64 processor for desktop PCs.
AMD, which had originally been expected to introduce the chip in March or April, now plans to launch it in September, simultaneously with a notebook version of the chip, a company representative said. Earlier this month, the company said that it was re-evaluating the launch date for the chip.

I'm personally not really surprised to see this. Seems that AMD is headed the way of Origin.

Thanks for the heads-up, Chuckles.

AMD is soooo going the way of the dodo. They'll just go back to snapping at the lowest end they can, emachines and shit sold at walmart. They are headed back to where they were during the K6 days.

That's it, they're dead.

I wonder how long it will take for Intel CPU's to hit the 1000$ mark again.

Why are there always so many negative comments when something gets delayed?

The truth is, since nobody in here has inside information, nobody knows if AMD is dead or not, although I got to admit that things have looked better for them previously

Well well, can you say, more then 18 months worth of failed promises of release dates? I feel this justifies any and all bashing of AMD, quite frankly its getting old.
