Ok, this may sound strange however, for the life of me, I cannot understand the word "leet". Is it a slang word for sweet or something?

It's supposed to be short for ELITE, which is usually used to describe someone who is very proficient in what he does.
I think it got popular with the movie Hackers, and was just carried on from there... Nowadays, it's just used to poke fun at people who still use h4x0r $p34k too seriously ...
