Anyone else have Altec Lansing ATP3s?

I read reviews everywhere and everywhere it's always the same comments: "GREAT! Great bass and sound from the satellite speakers."

I just received my ATP3s today, and the bass is barely noticeable. Anyone who has an ATP3 wanna tell me why I'm getting no bass out of this thing? And yes I have the bass control on my satellite speaker maxed out - though it feels like it controls the bass on the satellites themselves rather than the sub.

I only get a really really low bass from the sub itself...

what kind of sound card do you have?.......have you checked your audio settings for your sound to see what the bass level is set at?

i have an old set of Altec Lansing spearkers that are on my little girl's computer that still sound great, with more than enough bass. it must be something to do with your computer audio settings.

did you turn up the bass on the software audio controls?

I know this isnt really related to those speakers, but I bought some Altec Lansing headphones a little while back and they were an absolute POS. Returned them the next day, thankfully I got a full refund.

My configuration hasn't changed since I last used this desktop on my PCWorks.

I checked up the stats on PCWorks vs ATP3. PCWorks has 17 watts total output, while the sub alone for the ATP3 is 18 watts.

Maybe I'm expecting too much bass from it. But my music sure did sound a lot better at home.

didnt ask if it had changed

different hardware often means different software settings. go tweak.

Yea, I actually did mess around with the settings. Didn't change too much - except when I turned up software bass a lot the speakers would start messing up at even mid volumes.

I'm beginning to hear more bass from it though than at first - maybe it needed some warming up or something.

Or maybe I was just expecting a huge boom from my speakers and in my mind's ... ear I remember the PCWorks as that boom too, but in reality it isn't.

*shrug*
