Bertelsmann Sued for $17 Billion for Napster Ties

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The music publishers behind hits such as "Jailhouse Rock" and "Unchained Melody" have filed a lawsuit against media group Bertelsmann AG over its investment in music-sharing service Napster, seeking damages of $17 billion.

According to the complaint filed on Wednesday in the Southern District of New York, the music publishers allege that German-based Bertelsmann contributed to the widespread infringement of copyrighted music by users of the now defunct Napster.
