System Upgrade_Intel chipsets

Is their a site or article which will give me a summarization of the pros & cons of the various Intel chipsets? The staggering number of options is giving me a headache.

well, believe it or not, intels website is a good place to start. they do a good job of presenting facts without an undue amount of PR.
assuming youre interested in a p4, this page : http://intel.com/home/desktop/pentium4/index.htm
links the available p4 chipsets. there is a similar page for celerons.
but mainly chipsets will differ in support of: bus speed, socket type (cpu), and ram type. most intel chipsets are fairly stable, so that shouldnt really be an issue.
probably your budget will decide which chipset youre going to use.
