Belkin USB 2.0 Dual-Port PCI Card

I bought a card to hook up my pc camera too because I needed a USB port. The cam keeps telling me no video device is attached - after I download & instal the card. I'm pretty sure the problem is the card... it won't download/install correctly... it is brand new and came with instructions and a driver installation cd... anyone have any ideas at all? I've tried everything except for what I haven't....

do your computer system recognize your newly installed pci card?

if so. try to remove and reinstall the cam.

The cam installation went well.. it is recognized and should work fine once connected to a working usb port... but the usb pci card I have, the instructions say "once the card is installed, put the cd in the drive, and turn computer on, Windows will recognize the PCI Card as a "NEC USB Open Host Controller and the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will open"... but that did not happen... I had to do a manual installation but then it said it couldn't find the drivers on the cd so I downloaded them from the Belkin website... it still didn't work so I removed it and did a complete reinstall....5 times... still doesn't work... what am I doing wrong... I am back to square one!

could just be a bad card or bad pci slot.

check your keyboard for a usb port, many of them have 2

maybe I'm a little confused, but ... check my keyboard? it has nothing but a chord to connect it to my computer.. anyway... i have 4 pci slots on my motherboard... maybe that is what you meant. . . i tried all 4... you are probably right... I got a bad card.. which means i got screwed because the store won't let me send any thing back if software has been open... I'd have to send it to the manufacturer..maybe I'll will but I'll buy a new card in the meantime... maybe that is the only alternative... thanks for everyone's help... if any1 has anymore suggestiions besides what I've already been told or done before... feel free to let me in on'em. thanx
