Consecutive - DAOC, defended realms one day for 12 hours
Total - Diablo 2, played it about 2 1/2 years.
Console
Consecutive - GTA3, 7 hours
Total - FF7, I dont know the exact time but its gotta be at least 300 hours.

I have a lot, but the most recent one I think was during Christmas I was free for 3 days and I didn't do anything except play Everquest and sleep for a few hours.

That was the night I did my first trip with my friend from Qeynos to Freeport. I don't care what anyone says, back in the day that was THE most exiciting part of the game.

300+ hours on FFX getting everyone's regular attack (including yuna's) doing 99,999..
Tidus also evaded every physical attack ever aimed his direction. But even if he did get hit--it did nothing to his 39,000hp...
I think the actual play time was 240hours. I fell asleep a LOT playing that game.

Omfg, and I thought i was good because I had Tidus', Yunas' and Auron's legendary weapons... I tried and tried, but for the life of me I couldn't dodge 100 (bleep) lightning bolts for LuLu's

I once spent about 24 hours playing Mario 2 waaaaaaaay back in the day with a friend of mine, trying to beat it. We slept some where in the middle, so it was probably 32 hours total.
Total time for a game would have to be Fallout 2, which I played consistantly for like 2 years. Half Life and EQ I played for longer, but not consistantly.

The longest time I played a game straight was probably 19-20 hours with Baldur's Gate II ... of course, I'm a little hazy about the time coz I was in zombie mode in the last couple of hours...
The game that has kept my interest the longest would have to be Subspace ... been playing it since it was in beta in 1997 or something, and I still play it once or twice a month ...
But since this is the console forum, I would say:
longest straight: Final Fantasy X (8 hours)
longest ever: Final Fantasy VII (6 weeks)

This is a really tough one. I never play the same game for many hours straight, nor do I usually have time to play that much. Morrowind, Halo and FF7 are all really high up there. I'd say I've probably played each for about 10 hours straight, though I can't really remember an exact time on any particular game alone.
I've also played Warcraft III and NwN for long periods of time, but at the most 8 hours.

EQ-nearly 4 years... total time? well for the last 5 weeks of school last year it was school>home>eq>nosleeping me and a good friend did that strait... and on the weekends it went from friday to monday mornings on strait....
that and back in the old'n days when ever we would stay up strait for what seemed like weeks in the summers when i was like 5-10

Longest time playing a game hmm..
Either Ultima Online for about 4 years or Half-Life (with TFC, CS, DoD, and NS) since the day it came out with is probably equally if not longer than 4 years.
Longest consecutive time playing a game, maybe camping a large tower IDOC in UO (which I was there when it fell and got a bunch of furniture and black dye tubs [before vet tubs were out too]. I guess about 12 hours.
Maybe an all nighter in the summer playing CS. Had several of those.

Myself and a friend of mine would, during the summer, occasionally sit down and play a long RPG until we finished it--just pausing for the non-sleep necessities. I would estimate approximately 48 hours of solid play when we did it with Final Fantasy 7.
For total game play time, I would say that my highest on any one game is Starcraft. I couldn't even begin to calculate the number of hours spent playing that game.

I actually have to take back my overall playing time.
The correct answer for me is...
overall : Bandit Kings of Ancient China - 14 years and 7 months. It's really old, but hey it's one of the few games you can still play on a new pc w/o speed issues 
and it was the very first game I played on a pc that wasn't on an Apple II
