Bishop seen taking bribes!
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: Bishop
Yes, I have been bribed!
My parents offered me a PS2 if I go to church and some idiotic birthday party afterwards tommorow.
quite a deal eh?
Posted by: Canis Lupus
... then again, maybe you can try to squeeze a couple of PS2 games if you agree to wear a suit to church...
Posted by: Spider
A PS2 isn't enough to make me sit through church.
Posted by: Gerbilo
i'd goto church, and ask for the money cash instead of a PS2

Posted by: Bishop

2 hours and 30 minutes of my time, total.
nothing to do today anyways.
Posted by: Null Actor
Well, be careful they don't brainwash you. Religion is evil.

Moving to general discussion...

Posted by: TheeMon
whats that supposed to mean? i go to church
Posted by: MK
Hahahahahahaa.a.ad.fdsflkasjdf;alksjdfa;skjfdas I cannot laugh so hard. That is the saddest damn thing I've ever heard. "Son, to get you to go to church, here is a PS2!" Man, I go to Church cause I sometimes want too, even though I don't learn much and I get jack shit. You get a PS2 for it? Sigh...some parents spoil their kids too damn much. This kid at my school has an LCD screen in his Eclipse and has a PS2 hooked to it from the back, heh
Posted by: TheeMon
yeah i wished i got a ps2 or hell even a DOLLAR when i go hehe
Posted by: redwench

Oh but we are all going to hell?
Posted by: Canis Lupus
What if I don't believe in hell? What if hell is right here, right now?
Posted by: Bishop
300$ actually.
Hell?
Hell is ots on a weekend.
It was actually amusing.
I think the best part was "Join us or DIE!"
oh and can't forget "the mormons say their way is right, and our way is wrong, well they are wrong, and our way is right!"
and the most idiotic part, there wasn't even anything from the bible, just this idiot up there trying to drill the same basic idea into theese clots over and over.
sad thing is I understood his point (not agreeing with something doesn't mean you can't understand it.) within the first 5 minutes, but he continued to drone on and on for an entire ****ing 25 minutes.
So I'm stuck yawning and trying to catch some sleep.
I had that same problem in school, which is probally why they kicked me out.
Anyways, I'll be afk for a while, playing TTT ^_^

A lot of people don't like church. I consider it a huge waste of time, among other things. But regardless, no one should be forced to go. If bish's parents wanted him to come, and decided to bribe him to do it, then so be it. Obviously, bishop probably isn't going to go again, and obviously, his parents aren't going to try again.
Posted by: TheeMon
you should all go to church hehe
Posted by: Canis Lupus
In highschool, I went to church almost everyday (it was a Catholic school right beside the Parish church, so what else is new).
I even knew the Old Testament by heart... I could embarrass a theology teacher back then, hehehe...
Then I met Satan ... lol j/k
Seriously, I just decided that faith should not have to require weekly rituals... If you believe in something, believe in it, don't bathe in it ... the world is filled with church-going psychos ... going to church is not an obligation, it's a choice... IMHO, of course

laggy, humble? never

I was only gone 12 days, and I come back to find the entire universe is different.
I heard Bishop was doing tech support, that a Blizz Rep was in OTS for over 30 mins.
Bishop went to church, Theemon has religion (no offence), Blizz has banned ALL bots except to tech channels, and the sky is Blue!
What next, no lag on Bnet?
Oh, I'm so confused.
---=====---
Religion shouldn't be forced. That's just stupid. Forcing someone to believe something just because you do. bleh. reminds me of some reasons why I hate people in general. but if I go into that i'll get seriously depressed. pardon me while I go take some happy pills and go lay down.

oh yeah laggy, i'm gonna steal your sig one day when you aren't looking

ooooo, black hair and brown skin?
yummmmmm
Posted by: Null Actor
thai is tough to learn. Any language that depends more on inflection and tone is tough to learn. Especially if english is your first language. Languages that are based more on hard syllables are much easier to learn.
I'm gonna learn japanese, and I'd like to learn cantonese, but I don't think I'd be able to pull off cantonese. Japanese on the other hand shouldn't be as hard.

That one book has gotten a majority of the world population to believe that there is a big invisible man in the sky and that he watches over every single one of us.
and, here is the most important thing...
he needs MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Spider
lol
Posted by: Bishop
the real question is.
is it fantasy, or science fiction?
Posted by: Kull
I prefer the word
Mythology
Posted by: Spider
I can see it now ... this going to turn into a big philosophical/religious debate.
Kill it before it grows!!

I'm with Chako
Posted by: Kull
Nothing is wrong with debate.
It is arguments that spawn from them that are the problem.
It seems that both sides of this argument want the other side to change their view right there and then.
Honestly Chako, I'd like to hear your opinion on this, but I will not force it out of you
Posted by: TotalRecall
He wants our money Kull? Are you talking about when the church takes up some type of offering? Well, that usually goes to various missionaries, church expenses, and towards projects. (I can see that at our church, because we now have a very large community center like building.)
I do not want to start a religious debate, but I base my views of religion on basically one thing: something cannot evolve from nothing, and I refuse to believe that we are here today just because 2 one celled organisms found each other and created the gooey pool of life.
Of course, what's wrong with believing in a god or maker? If you are wrong, what do you have to lose?
Posted by: Bishop
I can understand believing, but I'm not going to change my lifestyle and thinking because some overly clever senior citizen happened to think up a way of saving his ass from the angry mob down below.
at the moment, I don't believe in much of anything, and I doubt that will change in the forseeable future, but I am not a seer, I can not tell you.
out of everything I've ever heard about the afterlife and other such idiocy reincarnation seems to be the only one I'd buy into.
Posted by: Outlaw
speaking of reincarnation, Tupac is still alive and he'll "reincarnate" 13 sept 2003
Posted by: Kull
You bring up a very good point there TR. Some churches do use the money for good things. It varies from place to place. My old church (yes I did go to church, so I know both sides of this debate) used the money to pay for community things. I respect that totally. When I say that he needs money, I mean the example I found from my old high school. It was a Catholic High School, and they literally begged for money every single week. The only reason they could give was that for giving this money, "god" would accept us into heaven. Its that kind of example that you see around the world that bugs me.
As for the one celled goo stuff, who knows? I don't know, Darwin has some good "ideas" but that is all they are, just ideas. You also mention about what is there to lose by believing and there isn't one. Its funny you should mention that. That was mentioned in one of my philosophy class. I don't remember which philosopher said it, but he basically said that same thing that you said.

OK, Darwin didn't have any ideas, well, not entirely true, he did have the theory of evolution first, but he couldn't explain why, that part of "his" theory, he stole from Wallace (Darwin spent his entire life trying to figure the theory out...stealing it from some non-respected scientist who figured it out in a fraction of the time he spent on it, isn't much of a surprise).
Posted by: Kull
That is why its in quotations and I put some good ideas
Posted by: Spider
OK. OK.
Most people have no clue whatsoever who Wallace is, so I felt the need to say that Darwin was a thiefing bastard.
Posted by: redwench
wasnt that philosopher named something like patel? not pavlov, but something eastern european.
Posted by: Bishop
somehow the fact that one of the supposedly most influential people in history is a thief restores my faith in the universe ^_^
Posted by: Kull
I honestly can't remember the philosophers name. We started getting into political philosophy, which in my opinion is quite boring. The good stuff comes in with William James.

OMG itd be funny if tupac did get reincarnated as a really rich prepy assed white person HAHA

Tupac is dead.
Posted by: Outlaw
maybe he's dead, maybe not.
i just think it's a little weird he just keeps making albums, he made at least 6 after he died (4 of them are double cd's) and the next one is planned for november (i think)
he also raps about things that happened after he died and he even wore shoes in one of his clips that didnt exist yet at the time he died...
i admit he's probably dead, but i've seen to many Tupac sites with reasons for him beeing alive to know for sure.
Posted by: Spider
Have you ever seen, "The Crow" ?
Posted by: Gerbilo
lol, i remember some conversation about tupac, punchline of a joke was like "don't you mean onepac?"

yeah i saw it, and i also know the main actor was accidentily shot dead during the filming of it, and they computer animated him for the rest of the movie.
if thats what you mean, it explains the shoe thing, but not all the albums he keeps making and him rapping about stuff that happened after he died.
Posted by: Kull
How about someone that sounds exactly like Onepac making these albums.
I remember the 80's (sadly), and all those bands sounded exactly the same. It is probably the same situation, where someone who sounds like Tupac is making the music.
Tupac reminds me of Elvis, people claim he is still alive.

He wasn't computer animated. They just got a different actor with a similar profile. Not to mention that most of the movie had already been filmed, it was just some of the action scenes that hadn't been (they usually don't film that stuff till last, just in case someone bites the big one).

he wasnt? but he was shot, right? or am i mistaken with another movie?
anyway, that was a pretty good movie. gotta see it again sometime
Posted by: Outlaw
oooh look! i'm a junior member now!!
Posted by: Null Actor
Shot and killed actually. But they got a look a like actor to replace him for the filming that was left. The makeup helped.
Posted by: Bishop
yeah so far as I know the only scene it wasn't him in was the one where he took out the majority of the crime bosses.
most of the rest had been filmed already.
Posted by: MK
I also believe Church is a choice. I would not go every week if my parents didn't make me. I believe church is not needed to get across what I believe. Nova, Yes, I know he should not be forced, but a $300 bribe is a bit excessive and pointless because obviously if he's bribed to go, he does not want to go and will not pay attention, true?
