Xenogears question! (spoilers)

Okay, haha, so I'm playing an old PSX game right now, but it's pretty good so far (the outdated graphics notwithstanding).
Anyway, I dunno if I'm missing something, but I seem to be stuck at the Bledavik (Aveh) area. I am attempting to infiltrate the castle and one of the ways to create a diversion was to have Fei join the "tournament" ... so after I had him registered, I go back to the lady in the hotel room and tell her the details ... and after all is said and done, she says she wants more info ...
The problem is I think I have talked to everyone in north/south Bledavik and the north/south Shakshan Square and the Fatima Castle (pre-tournament area), and I don't know where else to look for info!
Out of desperation, I took a peek at a walkthrough on the net and they said Bart was supposed to mention the spring underneath the castle where they can sneak through ... but I dunno what I am missing to initiate this bit of info! There are two people in one side of Bledavik who are beside a well, but I have already talked to them both and that spring clue still won't come up in the hotel room...
So, those who still remember the game, a little help please? Thanks

n/m ... I just went ahead and talked to everybody again (arrgh) ... and I probably missed someone before, coz when I went back to the woman in the hotel, it triggered Bart to talk about the spring and the well ... *whew*
Now, to go look for the key to that well, lol ...

Wow, one thing I can say about this game ... it's pretty ****in long ... those who said the final fantasy series are beginning to suck because of long cutscenes and dialogues - but love xenogears - confuse me ... coz I have just sat through almost an hour of dialogue in this game!
Not that I'm complaining or anything - I just thought it was amusing
The mood music on this game rocks tho ... and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself

First disk ... good game
Second disk sucks arse.
Bear in mind this is sepaking from years ago, so I may be a lil' off ... The second disk they just kinda do teleportation thing. Fight to fight without any real travel. I enjoyed that part about the first half of the game.
I loved the game, but never finished it for that reason. On a related note, is Xenosaga a sequel?

Well, it was a pretty good game ... the "chibi" appearances of the characters are a bit disarming and always makes me feel I'm playing a kiddie game ... the music isn't as moody as the other FF's ... the sidequests are VERY convoluted (chocobo hot or cold, in particular) and I never took the time to see it through the same way I did with the chocobo racing in FF7 ...
FFIX felt more like an homage to previous Final Fantasy games (kind of like a "Best Hits" compilation rolled up in one game) ... One line in the ending was amusing ("No cloud, no squall shall hinder us.")
All in all, it's good ... the story isn't as deep as FF7 or as memorable as FF8, but the ending was definitely more satisfying than FF7 or FF10 ...
Anyway, back to Xenogears, this game has subplots upon subplots ... I am not kidding when I say more than 60% of my gametime involves cutscenes, revelations and character dialogue ... but it's my kind of game
