A: Console is something in the game that you can use to join other games, vote for other maps, vote off players and change your name.

Q: Console isn't working, how can I make it work?
A: Right click on the counter-strike shortcut and go to properties. Then on the command path, make it say
"?:\...\...\hl.exe -console -game cstrike"

Q: How do I add a server?
A: In gamespy, you can add a server by going to game/add favorite server.

Q: Why should I have to download every map I play?
A: Because either you don't have the map or the map is not in your cstrike/maps folder.

A: This means you don't have the latest patch, download it from counter-strike.net

Q: Why is my ping so high?
A: You must not have a good high-speed internet or you do not have a good connection to the server you are connected too. This could be from just a bad connection or they could be having problems or the server could be too far away, which would cause high ping.

Q: How can I tell apart Terrorists from Counter-Terrorists?
A: Terrorists are mainly two seperate colors (Shirt and pants) and the Counter-Terrorists are mainly one solid color.

Q: My maps are different from the servers, what should I do?
A: Each time the server is switching maps, you'll see a download bar at the bottom and that is the map installing onto your computer, so you will not have to worry about not having the correct maps.

Q: What is a good program to find servers with?
A: Gamespy Arcade, which you can download from http://www.gamespy.com

Q: How do I make my own Spray Logo's?

Q: How do I change my controls?
A: Go to "Play CS" and then go to "Controls" and customize them how you want them

Q: How do I just talk to my allies?
A: The default is "u", but you can customize it however you want

Q: I'm getting the error "Hunk_Alloc:failed on xxxxx bytes." How can I fix this?
A: CS uses more RAM than HL and TFC, so those with 32megs of RAM are having problems. In your command line, set -heapsize 32000 - or try other values, smaller or larger - depending how much RAM you have. If you don't know how to do this, right click on hl.exe and 'create shortcut' Right click on this new shortcut, choose 'properties', then edit the 'target' (command line) to say something similar to "C:\sierra\half-life\hl.exe" -game cstrike -heapsize 32000

A: Valve knows these problems and is working on them, in time it will be fixed.

A: CS does not support single player and will not in the future
