Question:
I've heard I can make my PS1 games look better on the PS2. How?
Answer:
There is an option which isn't straightforward on how to change, which allows you to set your PS2 to play PS1 games with either smoothed textures, faster loading, or both.
At the main Screen (Browser/System Configuration) you can hit Triangle to go to the version numbers. Now select the Playstation Driver, and you will see a button appear at the bottom of the screen for options. Hit that button, and it will pop up two options for making your PS1 games better: Smooth textures and Fast loads.
Smooth textures will work in almost any game, and does make a significant difference, especially on closeups.
Fast loads will make your games load faster, but tends to break things like FMVs and movies that are played back from the CD.
Test on a per game basis if you want.
This info is probably in the instructions somewhere, but I don't use the instructions, and neither do a lot of people.
