Win2k Server - Net Logon

Have a Win2k server that when it is restarted the Net Logon service does not run.
The Startup Type has been set to Manual but even if you change this to Automatic the service does not start and the Startup Type defaults back to Manual.
Any HELP appreciated!

do you have the workstation and server services running? what does it say in event manager?

Have checked this already and both services were running, and there is nothing in the event log.
Any ideas?

the event log should give you something especially if a service fails to start

I think the reason there is nothing in the event log is because the service keeps resetting it self to "manually" start every time you reboot the server, even when you set it to "automatic".
