Can I move single exe. files to my other hard drive?

I downloaded zip files with exe. files in them, I also downloaded exe. files from e-mail. A few times I have purchased programs on the web and they sent me exe. files. All I had to do was click on these single files and they would completely set up the program on my PC.

I have to remove all my important files and folders from my hard drive because the Windows XP upgrade was unsuccessful. Because this upgrade went wrong I lost my CD-RW and my DVD.

I want to to move my important files, folders and exe. files to another of my hard drives just installed recently. I then can fix the big upgrade mess up without the worry of losing important files and folders.

My question is can these single exe. files be copied to my new hard drive? Or, would I have to move them there. Or is it impossible to do?

I would be grateful for advice on this issue.

Thank you for your time,

Melly :>)

Just copy and paste the files from the hard drive with the files, to the newly installed drive.

Thank you Darky,

Whether I copy or move the whole file I should have no problem right?

Moving or copying the file will accomplish the same task of getting it onto your new drive. Moving it will just remove it from one drive and place it on the other drive, while copying it will duplicate the file so you have one on each drive.

Thank you for your input Shalome,

I needed the answer to that but would also like to know, will the exe. file still open and setup the program once it is moved to my new hard drive.

It should.
