Why Win Explorer on boot???

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Just upgraded my MB & processor (Asus A7N8X, Athlon 2400, 2x256meg RAM) and did a fresh XP Home install.

Everything was fine, but today I installed a few more apps including WinDVD, and now every time I boot, the Windows Explorer is open to C:\Program Files\Common\Bin. The files in the Bin folder appear to be WinDVD related.

How can I stop booting up to this folder? A minor irritation to be sure, but I'm stumped.

This is gonna sound stupid, but you did close the explorer window, right? Any explorers that are open when you close down windows will be re-opened next time you boot up.

You can also try running msconfig (start > run > msconfig), then goto the startup tab and try to find the explorer window there and disable it.

Another place to check would be Start > Programs > Startup.
