Well my ps2 aint actin right... so what else is new? anyway i was wondering if anyone knows how i can search for a local shop or somthing that could repair my ps2 and maybe even install a mod-chip?

A place to start would be the people you bought it from ... if you have any kind of in-store warranty, it would be easily handled by that shop (if not, you would have to contact Sony for parts/repair or possible replacement ... consult your PS2 manual).

I bought my TV and PS2 at Best Buy and I made sure to pay a teeny bit extra for the warranty, because of how infamous the PS2 in terms of possible defects along the road.

As for the mod-chip, we don't support that here, and neither does Sony, but you can easily search Google for info on that... good luck.

The infamous incidents regarding the PS2 were disk read problems and stuff. Mostly a manufacturing problem. People have had many problems with their PS2 not being able to read certain types of DVD games.
