I can sometimes join a CS game with no troubles ,but then other times when i try to join a game it retry's 4 times then doesnt connect. It happens in no praticular order or anything just pure randomness...

I have a Micron Millennia 2100 Series
X-86-Based PC
Intel Celeron Processor 700Mhz
It's modem is a HSP56 MicroModem
19.00 GB hard drive
128 RAM i dont know what type
Imega Zip CD 8*4*32
(the original cd-rom that came with it broke
)

I hate my MICRON!

That happens often to me. The only fix I know of is rebooting your computer...

When ever I restart my comp. It does everything right except my comp thinks it has no cd rom drive. If i do a full shutdown it thinks it has a cd-rom drive but not on a restart.

That's weird. Does Window's redetect the drive upon loading?

Try this.

Start /settings/control pannel/System/Device manager/ CD Rom and toggle the DMA setting. If its enabled - Disable it and restart. See if it has any effect. If not re enable it.

Consider cleaning the CD ROM and the CD ROM drive.

See if the CD ROM has any firmware updates .

You may need to simply reinstall CS.

I dont know if it redirects it or not how could i tell if it did?

Posted by: Golf4Life

Disabling DMA didnt work either What would i do to clean my cd-rom drive?

I have two cd roms drives (both cd burners) and now my nice and kind (evil) Micron thinks it doesnt has anything in its E: drive (my bottom one) When we first got my Micron after a couple of months this same exact thing happened with the original cd-rom (DVD Too ) It is really pissing my off because now i cant make any back up copies of games.
