... but I was part of the Thistledown crowd, with momser, HW Grumps and the rest of the guys there ... haven't even touched my AC CD for more than three months.. altho I still haven't cancelled my subscription to AC coz I "may" still come back to it

How would you know it blows if you haven't played it yet? You've only played EQ, not AC. Don't believe everything those EverCamp people say ... most of them are too busy camping to think straight (no offense)

hehe yeah i had it my whole family played it for a month or to hehe... when i made my account i made my dude in green baggy clothes hehe... and it sucked we ran around killing RABBITS witch sucked 1 spell killed um... then we found these cat ppl witch killed us then my little cusin found a snowman OMG that was funny but she still died hehe... it sucked man when u meditated or rested or whatever u LAYED DOWN haha it sucked man hehe

If you went over to the other areas, you would have found the gromnies, armordillos, hunter shreks, and golems... maybe even the lugians and shadows if you levelled high enough ... don't tell me you get to kill big creatures in EQ even if you were still a newbie - you always start with small creatures ... if you wanted to get big XPs as a newbie, you should've camped for Aurochs in the fields (I know EQ'ers are adept at camping, heheh).

well like i said we well were very much newbies hehe took of 2 days to find the exp bar and if i member right it didnt even tell us we gained exp... dunno bout that and we RAN everywhere hehe we were al over the place hehe maybey we just needed some1 to show us how but still it sucked ass when u died u lose an ITEM wtf is up w/ that? hehe
ugh not exp bar but however they messure exp or whatnot hehe mind u this was long time ago hehe

I think that's enough incentive to NOT die, don't you think? Otherwise, people will just go out on hunting sprees and will not develop survival traits and tactics coz they know there is no consequence for dying...
Unless that's why more people like EQ ... coz they like to die a lot

Only because the game came out before AC, and no one wanted to switch voluntarily coz they already have beefy levelled characters

i bought AC and the strategy guide the frist day it came out and i played and and thought it was the gayest game i evr played hehe. 70$ for me what a waste =) that was back when i had a P1 and 32 megs of ramm though lol. mabe ill try it agin when i can actually move =)

I like AC liked UO too Never tried EQ...
However I *have* tried Anarchy Online (beta). And I don't like it. I won't be wasting any cash on it retail, and recommed no one else does either until they come out with version2 (the debugged one).
As it went gold, game play in AO included random (work when they feel like it) functioning of zone transitions and mission generators (quests), all zone chat (you see EVERYTHING..constantly.. or nothing at all - never thought you'd hear of *me* turning off chat...), lag and drops that make play of more than one hour at a time uninterupted impossible, the complete inability to identify other avatars by nick in game with cursor (you have to *buy* it ingame), a chat interface of 4 words or less per line, a game interface reminiscent of the old WordStar (Shift + Ctr/Alt + letter = action), and a point of view limited to fps (you cant see anything from the neck down that's close - and killing you - even to target) or a "floating" angle which actually allows you to watch yourself run off your screen... All of these are pretty major bugs. All of these "features" were proclaimed "bugs" by Funcom, but as of going gold, none had been corrected to function as they are supposed to according to the docs. Not even gonna mention all the little annoying bugs also untouched.
Lastly, and THE reason I stopped doing the beta, I downloaded a double Trojan with a patch - Sub7 and a Zombie-bot program. I know for a fact it was in the patch, as I had just done a complete virus scan/defrag before I logged in - and the firewall went nuts with warning alarms as soon as it "self installed" (didn't even get to the userID/pass screen). Was a royal pain to get rid of them - and there was NO acknowlegement or warning to other testers from Funcom, even after I sent logs to Funcom notifying them. All they did was take down and replace the patch with a notice that the first one was "bugged", and oh yeah - delete my warning post on the boards... This was the 1.11 patch last week...
Now that the game is gold, I am no longer under NDA and can *finally* TELL people not to believe all that hype and PR.
Dunno about you - but none of this adds up to a "great" game to me. None of this lessens the fanatic ardor of some of the other testers, whose obsession with AO seems to be mysticly based... lol It is a "pretty" game.. lots of nice graphics, the motions are nicely done and realistic, with an interesting structure. So it still has potential. But I don't pay cash for potential, or I'd have already pre-ordered Dawn... hee hee
