Onboard audio problems (Via AC97)

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello.
I´m new to this forums and i need some helpppppp!!

Im having audio problems after changing my harddisk and reinstalling everithing from the scratch.

My system is:
AMD Atlhon1200MHz
Soyo K7VTA with VIA Apollo KT133 PCI Chipset (on board audio)
GeForce2 MX/MX 400 (NV11)
256M Ram
Win 98
DirectX 9.0 (Dr diag does not detect any problem)

The audio is chopped specially in games like Wolfenstein and really distorted while playing movies (winamp 3).

The drivers are up to date (AC97 and Via 4 in 1 package).

Mp3 seems to work fine.

Thank you very much in advance!!!

Try updating your video card drivers (www.nvidia.com).

Don't play video files in Winamp, it's got a crappy video player. Use something like Media Player instead.

of course it won't change - you didn't patch it

Anyway, "patches" have more to do with improving the way your system works in the background ... most of them are critical security fixes, and if you think they're not worth getting, then your old OS is open to all sorts of security exploits - and not even firewalls can help much on some of em
