Laptop assistance needed

Need someone with laptop experience to answer my question. I have a hp laptop and everthing was working fine until a power outage. The wife didn't have it plugged into a sure protector.

Now it will not turn on. i am thinking the power supply got fried. or maybe an internal fuse somewhere inside popped. I have alot of experience with desktops but none with laptops. The power adapter seems to be working but I need to know if there is an internal fuse inside the case or a internal power supply.. if so are they easy to replace with out damaging the case.. thanks

This probably won't work but try;

1.Unplug laptop from AC
2. Remove battery
3. Wait 10 minutes.
4. Plug in AC and see if it turns on.
