Hey everyone.. Back again with one of my Impossible problems.. Know the responses i'll get....First from Redwrench.. involving me buy a new computer.. and then some otehr guy will tell me to reinstall direct x. and Drivers...Sadly enough, I've always have resolved my computer problems by opening it up and pouring tang in it lol.
ANYWAY
When I try to launch Diablo II... The screen goes black. POOF.. yay the game's gonna launch- Wait no.. Lil Flashy white thingy top left.. Okay.. Black again.. Hey.. COmputer? woohoo?? Nope, computer dead. ::kick computer:: ::Computer restarts:: What do i do?!
Um.. lol.. well you see the problems all started when i tried to install Diablo II expac over my old game.. Then um.. The cd was too scratched.. found another one (weird lol) Put it in.. It worked! woot.. I find out 10 minutes later that it's a French copy of the game, Lol.. Soo.. I scrap all my diablo 2 files.. sit around.. Drink snapple and watch night court.. I come back.. Reinstall it.. Then i have my problem .. I snap my diablo 2 expac disc in half ( I'll never make it past act 2 anyway, lol. HC char). (i've died like 4 times in the past 2 weeks, lol..)
ANYWAY
um.. Yeah...
Also i'm out of rasberry diet snapple..
Anything is good...

if it involves paying more than 3 dollars I'm gonna shove my computer out the window lol.

What are your system specs? What do you have installed now? Are you still trying to use the French expansion CD? Do you have any problems loading D2 classic? More detail.

Windows ME, Geforce 4 4200 64mb, 768 DDR ram, hum.. Adm Athlon something something.

Uninstalled all my D2 Junk (including francais)

um... um... ummmmmmmmmmmmmm um...
well well... doesn't look like a bad system to me, so i think the problem most likely lies within the video part, OR it could be the audio... yes
anyways, make sure you got the lastest driver, which is the detenator FX driver from nvidia, and then, upgrade your directx to 9.0 ALPHA and then... if you've done all that, check your sound card and update the driver for that, cause that's the part people ignore the most and that's usually what fixes the problem
for example, i HAD a sound blaster PCI 128 and i ALWAYS get cx00005 error (or something like that), after i updated my audio drive then flaw no more so yeah
oh and, not to forget run Video Test for d2 and then chooses the 2D option, not 3D, 3D usually have problems, for me at least

No, the problem isn't in the computer at all.
He said he snapped his D2 expansion pack CD, and that's his problem.
And Derm, it'll probably cost you more than 3 dollars.
So throw your computer out the window. Now.
