Half Life 2 might possibly be the greatest game ever made.

Ho-lee-shit.

I've downloaded all the HL2 movies off of gamespot, and my jaw simply hit the floor. If the game is as quality as the videos have shown, it may end up being one of the greatest games of all times, and completely overshadowing anything that has come before it.

Check out movies if you can. If you have access to my personal ftp, I have all the movies up in my 'thecrap' directory. If you don't have access, don't bother asking for it, cause you won't get it. Well, maybe if you are an admin...

Highly recommended that you find some vids to watch though, they are all over.

I'll probably spend hours just moving stuff around and breaking things to gawk at the engine.

This game looks like it's gonna kick ass.

Its going uber slow though, I think everyone got it already, im getting 9kb/s out of it

EDIT: I just posted it to several forums, it should go faster soon.

I'm definatly going to buy several hundred dollars worth of hardware so I can run that game at full capacity. Damn addictive and expensive hobby!

Truly Amazing!

Hmmm....it seems the demo that was shown at E3 has been "leaked" and is showing up on p2p now in the form of about a 3gb file.

Thats very interesting, because one of the articles I read about HL2 from E3 said they were going to prevent that from happening by not sending out any evaluation or early versions/demos until a few weeks before the release. I wonder though if since they ran that demo on the 9800 if they sent a copy to ATI and it got leaked the same way doom 3 did

That's rather large, i've read reports of it being 800MB, but it's zipped... maybe 3GB after decompression?

Yeah, cause as we all know, everything is always ATI's or Microsoft's fault.

Anyway, rumors or not, I'm pretty sure it's not leaked.

Im not saying it really was from them. But theres a good chance it was as the Doom 3 Alpha was leaked from ATI. Doom 3 alpha was watermarked, John Carmack himself even said the leaked version was the one they gave ATI. And the reason ATI had the Doom 3 alpha, I would imagine, was because the first demos of it were being shown on ATI hardware.
