WinXP

Every time I log-in or restart my computer I receive this message:

Error Loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll
A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

Is there a way to get rid of this or fix the problem?

Thanks.

Looks like a video driver problem ... make sure to download the latest nvidia drivers for your video card from the nvidia site, and install them...

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_44.03

Or, you can go to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced button -> click on the tab stating your video card model, click on Desktop Utilities on the left menu, then uncheck the box that says "Display the media center icon in the tasbar" ...

If that doesn't work, then you'll just need to disable the nvidia cp from loading at startup... I dunno if WinXP has msconfig, but if it does, run it (start -> run -> type msconfig -> enter), go to the startup tab, and uncheck the box that says NvCplDaemon, or something...

Stick around for more suggestions...

Thanks Canis Lupus,
Finally got some time to read your reply and try it out. All I needed to do was install the updated driver from the website you gave me. Thanks again for the help.
