The only one that I know of off the top of my head is MusicMatch Jukebox Basic.
Is that pretty much the best, or are there better?

Audiograbber is the be-all, end-all of such applications.
The free version hs limited functionality, but still wins. Buy it though. I did. It's worth the price.

I don't like MusicMatch Jukebox much because it has too much bloatware ... I mean come on, 10 megs for a player and ripper?
I'll check out Audiograbber, but since it's gonna cost $20, I'll wait and see if other, better suggestions arise first.

Without a doubt, the easiest and free

RazorLAME is an excellent MP3 encoder. Open source too, so it's free.
If I'm not mistaken, you can use Winamp to extract CDA files to WAV format. In the output settings, you select the appropriate plugin (the exact name escapes me), select the destination in the setup for the plugin, then "play" the audio track to extract it.

Yea, but direct to MP3 is so much more handy.
On my desktop I have Creative Jukebox player that came with my Audigy software (it's a nice and fast ripper too), but I can't use it on my laptop because the software refuses to work on any other soundcard.

Exact Audio Copy
Free and precise. You'll have to read up on it some if you want to use it best, though.
Gun, are you an Audiograbber developer?
