Not sure if you heard of the MMORPG called Priston Tale. Well we have....
Windows 98se
633 Mhz
128 RAM
32 megs video
DirectX 9.0

For some reason when we start Priston Tale the update will run. Patch the files then when it goes to start the game the screen will go black for a sec then quit out of the application without a trace. This game works fine on a
Win98se
1.3 Ghz
256 ram
64 video ram
Directx 9.0
Thanks in advance.

What video card model are you using? Did you make sure to get the latest drivers for it?

Im using a NVIDIA Riva TNT2 card. I have figured out why it wont start. I had the card properties set to basic accelerator functions. That wasnt enough for this game. So i set it higher and it starts up now. But now the game freezes during the character selection screen. Boy figure one thing out find something new to play with.

This is because Priston Tale has nProtect integrated into the game. Baisically, this program run in the background scanning for any maliscious code. Unfourtanitly, it's less then perfect, and will usually pick up background services, like mouse driver programs, as maliscious code, and kill the application.

What you need to do is make sure NOTHING other then Explorer and Systray is running in the background. Also, scan for viruses, as this can set nProtect off as well.

They did this because back on the .77 server, it resembled something like Diablo 1; hacked to hell.

EDIT: And anyone else reading this thread who doesn't know what Priston Tale is, I highly suggest you try it out, after all, it is free (For now, since it's in beta). http://www.pristontale.com
