black screen on running age of mythology

System: Toshiba Satellite Notebook 2710X
Windows XP Pro 2002
Pentium 3 ,497 MHz
192 MB RAM
Trident Video Accelerator 9525

After a succesful installation of Age of Mythology, the screen becomes black as soon as I start playing. According to the sound the game is running, but the only visual thing is the mouse cursor. I have searched the web for applicable drivers but so far no succes. Any suggestions?

Age of Mythology requires, at the very least, a 16MB video card. You don't have that, and that can't be helped by driver updates. You won't be able to run the game.

I can't find the exact specifications for your Trident Video Accelerator 9525, but later model numbers (9880) seem to be 4 and 8 MB cards.

But hey, for driver updates for your video accelerator, try this:

::edit:: as a sidenote, even with a barebones 16MB video card, Age of Mythology will run like crap. Most systems nowadays have at the very least a 64MB card.

Thanks for the info, apparently my videocard only has 2.5MB, so that explains everything.
