The passing of T'kron
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: tkron
Hi,
Many of you probably know my father as T'kron, a somewhat frequent poster on these boards. I just wanted to let you all know that he passed away this afternoon after a painful but brief struggle with lung cancer. He considered many of you his friends, and I'm sure he'd want you to know about his passing.
Feel free to post your condolences to this thread and I'll be sure to pass them on to the rest of his family.
Regards,
T'kron's son

oh my god, I didn't know it was serious ... this sucks...
Thanks for letting us know - he will be missed terribly and I give my personal condolences to you and the rest of his family.
He has helped OTS.net and a dozen other sites in ways I can't even begin to explain. This includes the hundreds of people who have benefited and learned from him through the years.
It's goodbye to another fallen hero of the tech world...

Wolf and I have made a post on The Usual Suspect's forum regarding the passing of t'k. We are both still in shock, as you are.
T'k was a good friend to all of The Suspects, Open Tech support on B.net, TheHelper's Site, as well as TheGroup's.
It was our pleasure to have met in him person, several times, he will be missed by both of us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him, as well as his entire family.

While doing a little wandering on the web, I came across this site: http://www.rjgeib.com/biography/pla.../mom-grave.html
It is a site dedicated to a woman who died of lung cancer. There are several interesting letters and poems on the site. I don't know if it would be any comfort or not.
I, like so many others, am still in shock.

I for one never knew him very well, that was my loss and I am saddened by it. I do not know what you and your family believe about when someone dies, but it is not for me to mourn the passing of T'Kron. I feel a loss at the opprotunities I have missed, of talks we might have had of things I might have learned. I sing for T'Kron tonight.

Although I never met him in person, he was great for this OTS community and everyone he helped.
My heart goes out to him and his family.

I had the opportunity of meeting him in person on several occassions. He's one of the few people I know who was always there when someone needed him. Whether helping out newbs in Diablo I or getting someone through a tough tech support problem. One of the most unselfish people I've met. He will be dearly missed and I am very saddened by his passing. My prayers and best wishes go out to his family a friends. May he rest in peace.

I have come to pay my respects for a fallen friend.
I would like to express my deepest and sincerest condolences to the family of T'kron. I have played many online games with him, and feel honored to have called him friend. He never mistreated people, and always showed a wisdom and deep seated drive to help those who needed helping.
We will all miss him dearly.

He was a very great person indeed, very selfless.

I lost my grandfather to cancer earlier this year. My thoughts are with you during your time of loss and grief.

Rest in peace t'kron. He was a very good person, even though I only knew him through the forums. Best wishes to his family at this time of loss.

No idea he had cancer... I suppose that would explain his absence on the boards though. Hmm. It's always sad when someone dies, I hope he had a life well lived.

My sympathies to the family, he was a very kind man and I very much enjoyed talking to him both online and in person the last couple years in L.A. He will be sorely missed.

It's a sad thing to hear. I didn't believe it at first... I knew him from a long time ago on battle.net.. Before OTS.net, and just when TG.org was in the beginning...
He was a great man, who helped too many to count. My deepest condolences go out to the family. May you rest in peace T'kron.

Days have passed, and im still in shock still at a loss for words

Well now... that isn't exactly the best thing to see when you log onto OTS for the first time in a long while....makes me wonder what else I've missed...
I've known him since I was a newbie on b.net... back before OTS.net and TG. He was always there for a quick game, and I've spent more late nights in deep conversation with him over ICQ then I can count... in fact, just a week or so ago I was sending him my prom pics and talking about the upcoming year...
....

..
.
you shall be missed.... goodbye T'kron.

Friends of mine, I have been gone for a very long time, many of you may have forgotten me or may be too new to these forums to remember. I one time posted way too often here and was the crazy bastard in general. I left without explaination or provocation a while back and for some reason did not return. I always planned to return and to make it an amusing episode of OTS. I recieved news today when i returned home though that saddened me greatly. Yes, I know it doesn't help that i'm trashed, but I guess that helps me express what I feel better. T'kron was freakin badass, i got a chance to talk to him a lot, although not recently, i used to discuss many topics with him whether it be about computers or him telling me to drive over to his house and shovel his driveway due to our "fun" Chicago winters. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person as well. He and I along with another group of OTSers went to dinner a couple of years back. Now, I know T'kron was older than the gamer i was used to, he would joke with me about it often, this made me expect something sort of different, probably a stereotypical image reenforced by my parents, but he was damn cool and shattered this stereotypical image that I held within my mind. I wish i had the chance to talk to him more often, he truely was what atleast when i was there, what we would call an OTSer. He was helpful, kind, humorous, wise, and an all around good person. I hope he has made a good impact on the people that he has helped over the years, because I know that he has on me. When I remember the old days sittin on the computer, years from now, he will be in my memory, he will forever be an OTSer, and a friend of mine.

My condolences to t'k's family and friends. I am saddened by the fact that I never really got to know him better. I lost my aunt to lung cancer a few months ago, so I feel your pain. My heart goes out to everyone who knew T'k, and just know that at least now he has to struggle no longer. R.I.P.

Terribly sorry to hear, I haven't been about much lately, I didn't even realise he was ill, my dearest condolences go to family and friends, he was certainly one of a kind.

RIP TK
I've never met any of you though carrying on disscusions here makes me feel like I know some of you. Im saddened to see one of us go, especially one who always had some good input to any discussion.

I've been out for a long time, I remember T'Kron back when I use to play diablo, not long after it became retail. I've never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but I have talked to him both in chat and on the phone quite a bit. He was always a nice person, online, on the phone, he always had this nice aura about him.
T'Kron, you will be missed. I wish I had come back sooner, if anything, just to share old stories with you, for one last time.
My sincere condolences go to the family and friends of T'Kron.
Rest in Peace my friend, you earned it.

A day late and a dollar short, I just heard about your father. I'm so sorry and know that my husband, KingNeptune and I are both thinking of you and your family.
T'kron was a terrific person to be around. Always making me smile. He will be dearly missed in OTS and in life.
Those who have passed from this life into the next are not gone. They are making a place for those of us who are left behind here. T'k was a true adventurer and now is making his way on a new journey blazing the trail for those who are still here.
You are dearly missed my friend,
Simetra

Posted by: NightMage
Damn. I didn't know him as well as I would have liked and I wish I had spent some more time on the forum to get to know him, I held a deep respect for him, for the simple fact that he always got involved in conversations. Long live his memory on OTS and in the real world.

T damn...I didnt even know... been out of touch since I seen you last...glad you got that monitor back since the house burnt down soon after...you did it and stood for what most of us dreamed we could be as gamers...
you had your quirks, don't we all, but underneath it all you were there for anyone who needed it...thats the trouble with OLD gamers, they go to gamer heaven sooner than the young'uns...lets hope the Cows are smaller up there than down here on the Secret Cow Level...a Cheese Puff Fizzie salute to you, old friend...
