You know,
I have always wondered what lakes in LA the Lakers are named after.
I mean you got the pacific, but that's an ocean. You got those big drainage canals where the giants Ants hid in THEM. But for the life of me, I can't think of one Lake in LA.
Anyone know the story behind the name?

The Lakers were originally the Minneapolis Lakers, led by George Mikan. Almost fifteen years later, shortly after Elgin Baylor joined the Lakers, the owner decided to move his team to Los Angeles, because the Dodgers (who have also been recently moved to LA) were a big hit. This was in 1960 or 1961.
They've been in LA ever since ...
