How do you save e-mails in Outlook Express 6

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have followed all the instructions in Outlook Express 6 for backing up my files. Then, one day, my computer crashed. Oh lucky me for having my e-mails backed up! (I thought!!!) Well, when I went to open the e-mails from my CD backup, they would not open. My e-mails were all lost.

Are there any tips for backing up e-mails in OE 6? So far, I have been copying each one into Word 2002 and then saving them as a .doc file. What a hassel!

Please help! Thanks!

How did you back them up? If you did it by going to File > Save as..., then you should be able to double click on the files you saved (in windows explorer) to open them.

Best way to backup emails is to use File -> Export -> Messages... If you backed your email this way, then the only way you can restore them is to use File -> Import -> Messages ... choose the file format you want to import from depending on the file extension of your backups...
