New ZZZ Online

ZZZ Online Number 86 came out yesterday. It discusses a lawnmower that cuts with a laser, fabric displays, using florescent lights as a data transmitter, and putting inflatable wings on an airplace. Here's a snip from ths fabric display section:

The threads used to fabricate this unusual display are conductive wires with a light-emitting coating made from very thin electro-luminescent material. The woven fabric has a matrix structure, which creates a pixel at each cross-section. The application of an electrical field between crossed conductive fibers generates light emission. In this way you can get a monochrome image. Naturally, if you want to make a color display, you need to weave three types of fibers - red, green, and blue. Because of the matrix structure Visson displays are driven by standard electronic circuits, like those used for matrix flat panel displays.

The idea of having a piece of this "fabric" on your wall acting as a monitor or TV would be very cool. Get the full ZZZ online here.
