Hockey News: Avs sign Kariya and Selanne

Yup, its true the Avs signed Kariya and Selanne. So they are back together like they were two years ago in Anaheim.
The Avs are stacked now, all they need is a goalie and they are taking the cup.

The Mighty Ducks made the finals this year. It's pretty tough to buy a championship in the NHL.

I saw that news a few minutes ago. Good players are a dime a dozen. The Avs are still my favorite team, and this is good news, but who knows how well they will play together. Teamwork goes a long way.

Well I am saying this because Kariya and Selanne already played together. If they are on the same line they will dominate.
I remember when they were In Anaheim together, they pretty much did all the scoring. Then Selanne was traded and Kariya was out of sync for awhile.
So with them back together, I see some goals coming.

But beyond the Avs situation, I'm very interested to find out why Kariya signed for such little money according to reports. Most figured he would take a little less money to stay in Anaheim, especially after a cup run. It was quite a surprise to me to see him jump to another team...

Well i guess i just wasn't paying attention lately. Darren Pang's analysis says that the Ducks knew he was gone. That's really too bad they couldn't afford him.

Kariya and Selanne?! Guess the avs dont like getting dropped out in the first round. Awesome news.
Dont know what you all are talking about... this is huge news. Big name players moving like this (especially two great players who have a history together going to the same team again!) is big stuff.... jeezus. And the fact that an amazing team like the Avs is getting this kind of firepower.... INCREDIBLE. Yeah, the ducks went far, ditto for the wild and even the bolts, but cmon... a huge pickup is still a huge pickup.
Dont let what could be some incredible flukes blind you to the magnitude of this deal.
Two players cant bring a cup to a team?
Well, when the team is already stacked, two excellent players who play so well together can certainly make things easier. These guys were fantastic together... throw them on the second, or even third! line and they will produce like crazy. Just think of that! Kariya and Selanne on the third line!!!!! Holy hell. In freaking credible.
I'd love to see the Devils try to contain three rock solid lines of offense.
It cant be done, and for that alone, the Avs have that much of a better shot at taking the cup.
And comparing the Avs to the Rangers... we all know how ridiculous that is. Over the past couple of years, The Avs have proven that they are cup contenders.... the Rangers clearly havent. Why? Well, the Rangers have a bunch of superstars that dont play well together. The Avs have superstars who have gelled into a team over the past couple of years. Teemu and Kariya played for years, so if they're together on a line, I think its safe to say that they'll be cash.

As long as they aren't signing with the Flyers, I could care less. I am a Rangers fan, and I do agree, that even with all that 'talent' on their team, they are not all on the same page.
But like I said, as long as its not the Flyers....I hate the Flyers..

im still baffled at the stars not signing Hatcher, and the red wings losing Federov, and it does look like its gonna be a good year for the avs
