Chiggers in Tall Grass

(things you can think about while I spray solarcane on my chigger bites)
It's July 5th, there are still firecrackers going off in the hood where I live now...better that than the gunshots you usually hear in the hot summer turf wars. I like it here. I really do. Beats where I was in a 12 x 14 room with just a computer to interface with the virtural world. I broke out of my prison and hit the streets in search of something I felt was missing...
So here I am, back in Columbia, Mo...(see shalome for details on Como) living the life of a starving artist, playing music in local clubs, partying hearty and then coming home to my oxygen after I put my teeth in a jar with the obligatory blue tab of cleanser...It has been so long since I have been here or anywhere on the net...hell I don't even own a comp at the moment...the one I had having gone up in flames along with house I used to live in...(its a sad pitiful story but boring once you have told it more than twice or listened more than once)
But whatever, the Rat came back to say hello, I'm alive...and I miss you guys and gals...and maybe one day we will see each other in the real world...who knows? So what have I been doing? good question. I don't really know... I have like most of my life spent the last few months re-inventing myself and adapting to new surroundings...it hasn't been that hard really, I have had a lot of practice at reinvention. Some things have been surprising, especially the old stuff that keeps coming back around...
It seems that I am, along with my old 60s group, The Celebrated Renaissance Band, a collected antiquity by a British Record Lable, Arf Arf Records as part of a compilation of 60's psychedelic garage bands from 1965 to 1972. They are actually selling the thing on Barnes and Noble!! and elsewhere. If you do a search for Celebrated Renaissance Band on google or whatever you can see what I mean.
So for now, I have reunited with the banjo player from that old group and we are doing a retrospective of the groups stuff from then that we hope to release in the fall. I have another CD coming out then as well, Jerome Wheeler/The Dot Commies a collection of my songs sung by other folks but still its my stuff and sounds pretty good. I also have a couple of songs by a local folk songwriter Lee Ruth that I am recording for a two CD record set that will be sold to support the local community radio station KOPN. lots of music in my life right now, and thats good cause I live breathe and define my life note by note.
I bought a big PA system, Mackie mixers and Mackie speakers, and a bunch of baby bottle mics with stands, and two martin guitars, a banjo, a guitjo, and two acoustic fender amps.. man am I loaded for bear on the folk scene! I intend to resume playing with a vengance weather permitting... I have this thing where I can only go out when the temp is between 55 and 80...I guess I should move to California but hey they are all moving here so why bother? hehe...
Most of my gigs have been at local coffee houses and this cool spot on the missouri river called cooper's landing.. its on the KATY TRAIL and is a great place to play.. you look out over the river flowing past and something about water flowing just does that spirtitual thingy to me...been singing songs about sheep, and playing banjo to old fiddle tunes, singing original songs and jamming with old friends and songwriters and new ones...man am I in heaven...I think I am..
I say this mainly to explain my absence from this site, my net friends and buds, and the whole gaming community. I am having fun in the real world and not sure if the net will ever get me back...I have been lusting over a laptop loaded with PRO TOOLS that I could use in studio applications.. who knows...but should anyone want to reach me at the moment...
its jwheel@hehe.com
can't seem to get rid of that hehe stuff...life is good at the moment but like most things can change quickly...I seem to have shed my manic coat of arms and replaced it with something more noteworthy and pathological... if optimism is considered a psychosis.
I miss this place. I will always show up from time to time.. cause I care...if I can, I will try to be a little more regular and not disappear for months on time.. sure didn't want anyone to worry... but I hope you understand I was dealing with some stuff and that stuff is almost behind me now...hope all is well with you... i think all is well with me...
what more can you ask for? win the powerball? well duh, yeah... hehe..
I did buy tickets but hey, I keep telling myself I don't need anymore complications..and money at this point would really complicate my life...at least 200 million would...
how does all this relate to gaming, gaming problems, or tech support? havent a clue. but then again, what is a game but a chance to win or lose?

LABORAT! Good to hear from you again! It's great to hear you're still around, and making music again. Don't pull a disappearing act like that again, okay?
And Cooper's landing is indeed a good place to feel the spirit of the river.
