Any Issues with win98se & 512m ram?

Thinking of upgrading friend's computer to 512m of ram (graphics manipulation) and wish to know if problems lurk in the dark.
Have heard somewhere that win 98 won't recognize over 256m and use it properly. Any workarounds?

Windows 98 SE will work fine with 512 MB of RAM. I use 640 MB and i've had no recognition issues, although the memory management isn't always optimal (don't expect huge performance gains with the operating system).

I think it starts having trouble above 1 GB (1.5 GB?).
This might be Win2k though....
