Counterstrike Connection Problem.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Everytime I try to connect to a server, it gets to the initializing and downloading part, and freezes. I know that I'm connected to the server, because it displays the welcome message with correct information, and I will often get the [ADMIN] Cannot find player thing, but it freezes right after that. I've tried going through HLSW, and have tried it in software rendering, but neither have done any justice. Would be nice to get this working again, as it was find for over a year, then decided to quit.

Thanks,
Kilprot.

Can you get out of it by hitting escape or Ctrl+Alt+Del or does your entire computer freeze?

I can hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and get out of it, and it shows in the windows task manager (XP) that cstrike is taking up 99 percent of my CPU, but it's just sitting there.

Have you tried reinstalling?

yeah, I have many times, but that wasn't the problem. It was my sound card. Got it working now.

Thanks for the help anyways.
