Ill try downgrading

System: p3 500 vid radeon 7500 ram 192 (at the moment) Dx9
I havnt played D2 in a long time but I have recently gotten the urge to play well mainly cause my Evercrack is down atm but anyways I installed the full game onto C: drive and i did the graphics test etc says everything checks out fine but when i try to run the game all i get is this Black Screen and I can't do crap about it I end up having to reboot all i can see is my mouse pointer.
I have also tried useing the other option provided in the Test Graphics part the 2d option and still nothing if someone can help me or have info about a patch or fix or somthing to stop this from happening I would be really greatful.

Two possibles... anything new you've added? if the video card is new it would be that, otherwise it would be DX9 as it is the most unstable of the DX versions try downgrading DX9 to DX8.1 I think it is. If this doesn't work go to the ATi site and download the latest drivers... now this can be confusing as it isn't the catalyst drivers if I remember rightly... there are new ones, the prob is I can't remember what they are

Well ive recently updated my vid card so ill try down grading to Dx 8.1 or 8.0 and hopefuly that will help  thanks for the tip Nightmage

I installed dx8.1 and Diablo2 still does not work  is it just to old a game to run with newer vid cards maybe?

Have you tried upgrading your video card drivers? There is absolutely no reason Diablo II wouldn't run on your video card.

Aye ive updated my Video card and had Dx9 but now have dx8.1 and i thought that would of made the differance but I guess not this sucks i wanna play Diablo
