Video Card problems

I own an old computer with a 800 MHz AMD processor, 500 megs of ram and a 8meg video card. I tried to upgrade by buying a Chaintech Ge Forch 4 MX 440 with 64 mb of memory. My computer supports AGP and the card supports AGP 2x/4x. Can the card still run and deliver a good performance?

Yes, as long as the card fits into the motherboard. There are actually different kinds of AGP slots, but I'm sure you won't have a problem.

My currant 8meg video card supports AGP 1 if that exists. I don't think my computer supports/runs AGP 2x/4x. Does this make a difference? Thanks for any previous replys.

if its an 800, it should support 4x. certainly 2x.

Thanks for the help. If anyone has anything else to add, let me know.
