I have recently acquired the above device second hand - it came without analog audio cable and with severed/chewed speaker wires. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not the analog audio cables are standard, have tried an off the shelf standard headphone socket type cable, although I have power to the system I am getting no sound output.

yes, all sound connectors are standard.
