help getting my thrustmaster attack throttle to connect

I have a thrustmaster flight control system consisting of a TopGun joystick,
Attack Throttle and Elite Rudder Pedals....I upgraded my pc and the
motherboard has built in sound card, therefore deleting my serial port pin
connector....I purchased a gameport/usb converter from Radio Shack (26-164
part #), when connecting the usb to pc and controls to converter and check
my gaming options in my control panel, it shows that usb converter is
working ok and it shows that my flight controls are not connected...Is there
a conflict that could be interferring, if so, how may I resolve it....All my
connections on the flight controls are connected....Can someone please help?
