Frequent Restart -- Possible Reasons?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My friend's computer randomly reboots...what could be the possible reasons? Random as in, running anything from Windows to GTA3.

I checked for dust, it was pretty clean inside. And I'm pretty sure his air circulation is doing ok. Any other possible reasons?

If it's not heat, then it could possibly be a power supply issue, or even electricity issues from the house itself. If your friend is not already using a battery back up, I would deffinitely suggest looking into getting one. A battery back up is a great trouble shooter for electricity problems within a house. I know this from 1st hand experience. I had some random reboot trouble, after i disconnected my battery back up, thinking that it bit the dust, and come to find out that the battery back up was not working properly, because there was a wire in my breaker box that had come loose. The outlet I was using to power my computer was experiencing random, quick losses of electicity, due to the loose wire in the breaker box. After ditching the battery back up and switching to a standard surge protector, I started having the random reboots, which again were related to the loose wire. anyway, after fixing the loose wire, my battery back up worked again, and my random reboot trouble was solved.
