nero cd burning software

I am desperately trying to burn an audio cd using nero software on an IBM pc with windows 2000. I have downloaded all of the files, most of which are .mp3, dragged and dropped them, as instructed, and yet without success, even though it says the burn process has successfully completed. Surely it can't be that difficult, seeing that most ten year olds can do it. So why then am I having so much trouble? I've been at it for three days, have sifted through every support site on the internet, and am now on the verge of hurling the burner into the ocean. Please help, if possible! Would also like to know how I can reinstall the help file, as that too is somehow missing from the program. Thanks! Denise Wheeler

Do you know what kind of CD burner you have? By that, I mean the manufacturer of your hardware CD burner.

Thanks for the response. I'm using a TDK cd rom, with TDK CD-R disks. But I don't think the hardware is the problem, as my children burned a few cd's several weeks ago, and neither they nor I have been able to do so since. Then, again, anything is possible, although I suspect it has something to do with how I'm using the software. Previously I just downloaded the music, dragged and dropped the tracks, then burned them. Now, however, it's saying I have to "Save Image File" first, which didn't appear before, and therefore may be part of the problem, as I'm obviously not doing it right because the tracks aren't on the cd once it's burned. If any of that makes sense. If so, any suggestions, save for tossing it all in the ocean?
Speaking of the TDK burner, I noticed that only (1) of the (2) lights are lit on the device, a green one to the left. Do you think both should be illuminated when burning?

On my burner one is lit while the other flashes during the burning process. Is it writing to the CD? Look @ the CD you should be able to see a difference between a burned CD and a non burned CD..

Nothing flashes during the burning process, so it obviously isn't writing to the CD. Don't know why, though, whether the hardware isn't properly installed (then again there's only two cable), or if it's some oversight in the software process? Also can't see any difference between the unused and supposedly burned CD's.
