Diablo 2 Freezes problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

When i start a game on bnet with diablo 2 usually in like 1-30 minutes after i start, diablo 2 freezes up on me. the only way to go back to windows is to press esc once and it quits diablo 2 and sends me back to windows. My ping is only like 50-200, too. It doesnt say there is an error, except like 3 times out of like 50. It said "unhandled exception" or something like that

It just started when i got the 1.08 patch.

i have SONY VAIO,192 ram, 500 mhz celeron processor. i use a directdraw(2d) intel 810 chipset graphics driver 4.11.01.2555.
I use windows98.
I have tried a scan disk, defrag and closing all programs before i launch diablo2 but it still doesnt do anything.

Blizzard tech support sucks!

PLease help me!!!!!!!!!!

It seems people have been having trouble with integrated video since the latest D2 patch. Here's some things that might help..

1. Update to the latest video driver for your onboard video. Your motherboard manufacturer probably has it on their website, or it should be on the website of the namebrand of your computer if you have something like Dell or Gateway.

2. Update to the latest directX. www.microsoft.com/directx

3. If possible, go into your CMOS and assign more video memory to your onboard video. At least 8 megs. More if possible.

If it still continues to act up, try lowering your memory timings and try disabling any video caching in your CMOS. The majority of the problem is probably the Diablo 2 patch, but doing those things may help extend your uptime or maybe even keep it from crashing.

Post back if you need further help.
