Yahoo! Settles Case with NCR Corp.

Yahoo! Inc has settled a patent infringement lawsuit with NCR Corp, and has agreed to license the 10 patents NCR claimed its e-commerce systems were infringing upon. The deal could have implications for any e-commerce firm doing business in the US.
Yahoo said it is to license the patents, which cover, among other claims, methods of tracking users across multiple browsers, of managing product databases, and of handling shipping and order data.
An NCR spokesperson said the patents "essentially govern the way to purchase products and alert consumers to the availability of these products over the internet". He declined to say anything else.

NCR is a massive company... Yahoo had no choice... NCR would've crushed them
