That is your control panel so you can customize all that. The have a viraity of avatar's to chose from. Or you can link to one that is own another server. The size limit I think is 64x64.

So... this means that if I figure out what to do, and where to put it, post a link to where I put it so my comp can find it, and keep it within a certain size... that I can put up an icon of me in my cheerleading outfit or playing the saxophone?
excellent. I have always thought those avatars looked too familiar anyways. I keep seeing them on people. We need some Uniqueness in this place...gives us some class...mystique...eccclecticism. (note: you don't normally see five "Cs" in "Eccclecticism, I put one more "C" in there to see if anyone would see it)

Animated GIFs are not allowed - sorry, I guess I have to put that in the avatar rules or somethin 
The only reason it's not allowed is because animated GIFs are usually bigger than static ones ... and if many people start using animated GIFs for their avatars, the loadtime for each thread will dramatically increase
Unless everyone suddenly get broadband, I'm afraid animated avatars won't be allowed ... sorry...

It was 64x64 and was lesss than 20k, so I figured it was safe. Would it really take longer to load a 15k animated gif than a 19k still image?

anyone who wants to use an animated avatar must purchace broadband for someone for a full year.

That wasn't the point I don't want people to suddenly use animated GIFs coz they saw someone using it ... a still image is still generally smaller than an animated one, so there 
Besides, a 64x64 still image would be hardpressed to reach more than 15K (case in point, my avatar is full color, yet it's still less than 7K) ... anyway, I have limited the image size to 10K now, so
And I have 64x75 coz I am that I am ...
