Automatic windows update unavailable?

I want to reenable automatic windows updates in XP pro, but this is what I get under the tab:

Anyone have any idea what's up, or how I can enable it? Could it possibly be cause of my router (which is new).

They are being attacked by DOS attacks. It's on the news this morning.
The RPC exploit has been distributed to thousands of unpatched machines.

Oh. I figured this wasn't related cause I can get to windows update just fine through the web. (Or could last night when I posted this).

So, yeah, it wasn't related to windows update at all. My automatic updates service was turned off, I had to turn it back on.
