I get the ever so comlicated "unhandled exception" error when playing D2. Blizzard tech said (after 3 weeks of support) that "there's nothing they can do for me at this time". They said wait for the next patch, well 1.08 is to patches later. None of the usual fixes work.
I have an integrated graphix controler, and yes i know it sux. I was wondering if a bought a real graphx card would it let diablo work.
1. COMPUTER (Gateway)
2. Pentium III ~863MHz (L1 cash: 32.0 Kb, L2 cash: 256.0 Kb)
3. 126 Mb (129 292 Kb)
4. 44.0 Gb (41.1 Gb free = 93.5%) (41.1 Gb free on C: drive)
5. MATSHITA DVD-ROM SR-8586(D IDE-CD R/RW 8x4x32(E
6. Intel(r) 82810E Graphics Controller
7. (1) PPP Adapter.
8. AC'97 Driver for Intell 82801AA Controller
and dont reply with something like change the drivers. (give me a little credit)

Can someone tell me what a [7. (1) PPP Adapter] is?

Do you realy think that buying a card will definetly fix the problem? (struglin collage student can't spend 300$ for a card that wont fix Diablo.
and
If you think that it will fix it what card do you recomend?

Any of the Nvidia Geforce 2 MX cards less than $100 are more than good enough.

You can buy a decent GeForce2 MX video card for less than $120-$150 ... and in the event that it doesn't work, you can always bring it back for a refund from where you bought it...
As for suggestions on what to buy, get a Visiontek GeForce2 MX. Actually, you can just buy any cheap GeForce2 MX card, there's not much of a performance difference in D2 coz they all use the same basic drivers anyway...

ok so that is the card but inyour honest opinion do you think that will fix the porb?

Built in graphics? Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a video card. Your system is hobbled in a most horrible way if you don't have a graphic card. In other words...built in graphics is ok for business applications, not for gaming. Yes, a cheap MX graphic card should get Diablo2 up and running. Besides, if it does not work, you can always return it if worse comes to worse.

With the unpredictable nature of hardware and how it reacts to a buggy game like D2, we cannot guarantee that it will solve all your problems ... but changing the thing that causes your problems is logically the best way to solve it, don't you think?

Yes, D2 is buggy. No doubt about it.
