I get a meesage before my computer unexpectedly shuts down and it is "This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress. Initiated by NT Authority System remote procedure call (rpc) terminated unexpectedly."

Do you know how to correct?
Thanks
Joe

Run windows update.

Also, pay more attention to current threads and current worm news.

question.. If I have windows XP which has its own fire wall built in and is now activated, why would i still need Antiviris software?

Just because you are using XP's firewall does not make you Bullet Proof. Virus software helps protect you more from yourself than anything, as in scanning email attachments that you may choose to open. A firewall would not help you in that regard.

You've got the latest blaster worm. It will not let you get the latest updates from windows and will shut down your pc. When windows starts to shut down go to start>run>cmd> at the command prompt type shutdown -a . This will stop the countdown and you can go to Norton's website and get the FIXBLAST removal tool. After the fixblast finds the blaster files it will ask to install the patch and click yes.
