difference between laptop screens?

Hey,
I'm helping someone buy a laptop, but the problem is i don't know the difference between the different laptop screens. What's the difference between:

WXGA
WSXGA+
WUXGA

thanks

the W stands for wide screen. XGA is the worst out of the three, it is about 1024x768 resoloution pixels. SXGA is about 1400x1050 and UXGA has 1600x1200. The bigger the numbers are, the crisper the picture on the screen. Since you didn't know what these meant, I would suggest not buying the WUXGA because it costs a couple hundred dollars extra and is for advanced graghics and multimendia editing. If you are going cheap WXGA will do just fine but if you like games and have the money to spend get the WSXGA+ it is really nice and doesn't break the bank to much.

Ehh....a little late. I bought the computer over a monh ago. I went with WUXGA, because i found out the difference and the guy wanted widescreen. The difference in price was only about 50 bucks and he's pretty happy with it.

Wide screen notebooks are sweet.
For $50 difference, you made the right choice.

Just make sure your friend takes full advantage of WUXGA by running the laptop at its native resolution (1600x1200). Sure the letters might be smaller than he's used to, but otherwise he's not really getting his money's worth. In fact, if he is so keen on running at lower resolutions, he probably paid more to get less.
